Where am I going to emigrate to now?
In some ways, I was quite looking forward to the impending Irish recession, as I figured it would give me a good excuse to emigrate to New York (again), but preferably on a boat, this time. However, now it looks as though I’d be even poorer in Manhattan than I would be here, so what the hell am I supposed to do now? I’m hoping that Tesco will take over Lehman’s, and all the other banks, and thus complete their global takeover. Tesco Value mortgages! Sound good to me.
Incidentally, what with all the criticism being thrown at McCain and Obama for their slow reactions to Meltdown Monday at the moment, I can’t help but wonder if Mitt Romney, with his big ol’ business brain under that beautifully bouffanted hair, might have been able to handle things slightly better. Of course, I don’t believe that anyone can do much about it, anyway, but perhaps Romney would have come across a little better than McCain in this situation. Or maybe I’m just still flogging that Romney horse. Having said that, if the economy continues to go to the dogs over the next four years, it could very well pave the way for a 2012 candidate with a good record on such matters.. Worth thinking/dreaming about, anyway!
