I’m completely mangled.
I have been completely eaten alive by mosquitoes. My back is totally covered in bright red, angry looking spots. It happened yesterday afternoon, when I was sitting down on a windowsill. I didn’t see any mosquitoes around, but I suddenly became really itchy. I thought maybe I was after sitting next to a nest of ants or something, but I couldn’t see any creepy crawlies around. As I got up to leave, however, I did notice one lone mosquito. Either he was the Michael Phelps of the mosquito world in terms of eating, or he had a lot of more inconspicuous friends with him, because believe me, I was absolutely feasted on. I have a load of camomile lotion on my back at the moment, to soothe it. Unfortunately, I did make it worse yesterday by absent-mindedly scratching the area before I knew I had been bitten, so now it looks even more angry. Hopefully it will calm down soon enough, but between that and the fact that I gave my leg the worst shaving cut in the history of the world (imagine looking down at your razor and seeing a big wedge of skin on it — yeah) on Friday night, I am very much the wounded soldier at present.
Back to college tomorrow, though! I’m looking forward to getting back into the swing of things again, and also some sort of routine, which my life has been sorely lacking since I finished work. I was actually in UCC yesterday, for Fresher’s Fest, which was a new thing this year and was actually rather successful. Lots of free stuff — good times. Plenty more where that came from this week, I imagine, being Fresher’s Week. UCC are really going overboard on the whole fresher thing this year! Next year it’ll be Fresher’s Month, with a Fresher’s Carnival and Fresher’s Parade. Not that I’ll be around for it, for this is my final year.. Scary stuff, yes, but exciting, too! So roll on tomorrow..
